Change In Theming Camino 2.0 Folders For Leopard Users
Posted: 04/08/2009
A change was made recently in Camino 2.0 nightlies that affects Leopard users. All instances of the folder icon (bookmark folder, group bookmark folder, etc) are now drawn directly from the OS rather than using icons from Camino’s resources.
As a result, Leopard folders will now show up for 10.5.x users. It is no longer possible to theme folders using currently available tools. Neither replacing Camino’s resources via CaminIcon nor using UnifyCamino works. This will obviously disrupt the overall consistency of many themes.
A new third-party tool that alters the code at runtime or a custom build are now required for Leopard users to theme folders in Camino 2.0. If you come up with a solution, please send it our way!
