Getting Plugins to Work in Leopard

Posted: 31/10/2007

For a while it looked as if InputManagers were gone for good in Leopard, but they’re still around for us to pimp! The security is just a little tighter this time.

So for the early adopters trying to get their plugins to work in Leopard, here’s how you do it:

  1. Move the ~/Library/InputManagers/ folder to the root library at /Library/. If there is already an InputManagers folder there, just copy the contents.
  2. Launch Terminal.app and type the following commands to make sure they’re all owned and only writable by the root:
    sudo chown -R root:admin /Library/InputManagers
    sudo chmod -R go-w /Library/InputManagers
You will be prompted for an admin password.
