Please remove CamiTools!

Posted: 31/07/2008

Although we removed CamiTools from the site over a year and half ago, it’s sounds from this post by Smokey that it’s still out there in wild.

“Please, if you still have CamiTools, any of its predecessors, or CamiScript installed, remove them at once. They really are incompatible with any recent version of Camino, and if they haven’t yet caused you problems, they will soon.”

Take a look in your /Library/Application Support/Input Managers/ folders (there are 2, on in the root, and one in your user folder) and check whether you still have them. All of the ‘plugins’ on this site should really be called ‘hacks’, and while they can add extra useful features to Camino for us, it creates a huge headache to the developers.

So, this leads to another plea, if you do use hacks/plugins mentioned on this site (this excludes themes) please disable these and re-test before submitting bugs. Make sure you can reproduce it without the plugin!
